Hi readers! I’m Chrissie, By Jove’s Research and Education Co-ordinator, and now, your friendly neighbourhood blog editor – you might know me from our recent semi-academic article series SPARAGMOS accompanying our Season of Violent Women. I’m taking over the running of the blog to give our writers more time to work on their creative endeavours – but don’t worry, the faces and voices you’ve come to know and love will still be featured here regularly!
So what can you expect from this shiny new iteration of our blog? I’ll be posting weekly on Mondays, with comment pieces related to By Jove’s interests, updates on our current projects, and samples of the creative work of our wonderful writers. We’ll also have three monthly features for you to follow:
- Meet By Jove – a series of mini-interviews with our team, so you can get to know who we are, what we do, and what we’re into.
- Feminist idols – a series of ‘fact sheet’-style biographies of our feminist heroes past and present, to let you know who inspires us to keep fighting the good fight.
- By Jove Book Club – monthly book recommendations – from fiction to non-fiction, poetry, drama, and graphic novels – relevant to the company’s interests, with a synopsis and the reasons why we loved it.
I hope you’ll enjoy these new offerings! If you’re not already, follow By Jove on Twitter (@ByJoveTheatre) to get updated as new posts go live. If you’re interested in writing for the blog, tweet me @chrissieplastow – I’d love to hear from you! I’ll be back on Monday with an interview with myself (weird?), but if you can’t wait that long for your next By Jove fix, why not book tickets to the final show in our Season of Violent Women – Medea! It promises to be a raw and challenging new interpretation of the ancient myth of the murderous mother.
See you next week!
