“A balm after a difficult year”
This digital installation, the final work produced under the name By Jove, was originally made available in June 2021. In some ways it was the culmination of four years spent developing a new show that imagined the queer possibilities of Electra, Orestes, and their bloody family from Greek myth. In other ways, it was the finale to a decade spent thinking about those stories as a company. Originally intended as an in-person show, Covid forced us to try something new: an online exhibition composed of hundreds of fragments that you are invited to explore at your own pace.
When we pivoted to the digital format in 2021, we used Padlet to host the installation, ensuring we spent the funding we had on our Covid-struck artists and not a glossy website. While we search for a permanent home on a new site, we have decided to make the original Padlet installation available for anyone who wants to revisit.
